Charity Restaurant Raises Over £1,000

Published by Culford School on Tuesday 5th of December 2023

The Charities Committee were thrilled to host the Charity Restaurant event over two nights in November. This seasonal tradition took place in Old Hall, which was transformed into a restaurant in aid of Gatehouse, a local charity that supports families in need through several projects.

Upper Sixth student and Head of Charities, Grace, led the event with the help of Head Boy, Charlie, and Prefects Megan, Leah, Evie, Holly, Elizabeth, George, Ruby and Annabelle. Students raised over £1,000, with the final amount still to be confirmed. We would like to thank everyone who visited the restaurant, our fantastic catering team and the students who helped create two wonderful evenings.

Alongside running the Charity Restaurant, the committee has actively pursued other initiatives this term. They organised the Letters of Kindness campaign on World Kindness Day to raise funds for the Inshuti of Rwanda and started a campaign supporting Bury St Edmunds Woman's Aid. As part of this endeavour, the committee encouraged people to donate gift cards from local shops with a value of up to £20. This effort aims to empower survivors of domestic abuse, offering them the independence to buy meaningful gifts for their loved ones during the festive season.
