Nellie Earns Golf Scholarship At Ohio State University

We want to congratulate Upper Sixth golfer Nellie, who has confirmed a place at Ohio State University on a golf scholarship in September. Nellie's golfing journey over the past year has been impressive, including earning all six points for England at the Girls' Home Internationals, securing the runner-up position at the Women's Open Stroke Play Championship, and achieving top-10 rankings in events like the English U18 Mixed Amateur Championship, Welsh Women's Open Stroke Play Championship, and Scottish Girls' Open Championship. 

She tells us, "I feel so excited! Going to Ohio will allow me to play against some of the best players in the world in a strong team with great coaches and fantastic facilities. I started playing golf at age ten and worked my way to playing in national teams and into the England national squad. I love the competitive aspects of golf, being part of teams, and meeting so many new people. 

Having Mr Dodd reflect on my tournament results helped me progress and find areas where I can improve next time, especially from my tournament experience. Mr Earle has also helped me gain strength and speed in the gym, which has been so important in my progression over the last few years. I'm grateful to Culford for their support and can't wait for the next stage of my golfing journey!''
