Celebrating Biathlon Excellence and Becoming an Official Pentathlon GB Hub!
Published by St Helen's School on Tuesday 4th of February 2025
At St Helen's School, we believe in providing more than just academic excellence; we’re dedicated to equipping our students with opportunities to grow, lead, and succeed in every area of their lives.
That’s why we’re proud to announce that St Helen's School is now an official Pentathlon GB hub, marking a new chapter in our co-curricular sports programme. Pentathlon GB, the governing body for modern pentathlon, brings together five dynamic disciplines: swimming, fencing, obstacle course racing, running, and laser shooting. As a recognised hub, St Helen's School joins a national network of elite training centres designed to nurture and develop young athletes. This partnership enhances our reputation as a school where students are supported to pursue their passions and reach their full potential.
Our dedication to developing pathways for girls in biathlon competitions has been a cornerstone of our sports programme, and becoming a Pentathlon GB hub is a natural evolution of this commitment.
We are thrilled to share that four of our students have qualified for the National Biathlon Finals at Bath University on Sunday, 23rd March!
- Lia (Year 6)
- Ira (Year 6)
- Amaya (Year 8)
- Isabelle (Year 11)
Competing at a national level not only reflects their talent but also our commitment to nurturing the potential within every student. Our existing sports programme, which includes netball, hockey, swimming, basketball, rugby, athletics, and many others, already offers something for everyone. The addition of Pentathlon GB training reinforces our commitment to offering students the opportunity to explore new disciplines, discover hidden talents, and embrace fresh challenges.
We are excited to begin this new chapter as a Pentathlon GB hub and look forward to supporting our students as they rise to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
