Providing A Journey of Individualised Education from Nursery to Sixth Form

We believe every student is unique, bringing their own dreams, strengths, and ways of learning.
This individualised approach is embedded in our curriculum, guiding each girl from the very first steps in Nursery to the moment she finishes Sixth Form, prepared to take on the world. By fostering a growth-oriented, inclusive learning environment, we inspire our girls to explore their talents, embrace challenges, and become confident, capable young women.
Starting with Strong Foundations in Nursery
In our Nursery, we prioritise emotional well-being alongside academic foundations, recognising that it's okay not to feel okay at times. From an early age, students are encouraged to articulate their emotions, understand that feelings are natural, and use tools like the Zones of Regulation to help them return to a happier, more balanced place. This commitment to nurturing each girl’s self-awareness creates a supportive environment that promotes mental health and emotional resilience. As our Head of Prep, Miss Workman, observes, “Even our youngest children can express how they’re feeling and know it’s perfectly fine to experience a range of emotions.” This foundational emotional intelligence equips our girls with skills that support them throughout their lives.
Developing Character and Confidence
In Prep School, we build on early lessons by focusing on core values and character development. Miss Gupta, Assistant Head of Prep, explains how teaching character attributes fosters a compassionate and courageous mindset. She encourages our girls to be “self-compassionate, courageous, and to pursue their dreams.” By helping them understand that making mistakes is a natural part of learning, Miss Gupta and her team cultivate resilience, confidence, and a love for lifelong learning.
Our Head of Design & Technology, Miss Walshe, recalls a powerful story of resilience from a Senior School student who, despite tight deadlines and setbacks, persevered by reassessing her approach and learning from the process. This experience highlights a key part of our teaching philosophy—learning doesn’t need to be perfect. In fact, it’s through overcoming challenges that students develop grit and the confidence to pursue new goals.
Cultivating Artistic Expression and Community
As our students progress through their educational journey with us, they are provided with opportunities to explore their unique talents in an environment that encourages creative expression. Mr Wookey, Head of Instrumental and Vocal Music, reflects on the importance of self-expression and authenticity, urging each girl to “Be brave, bold, and fearless”. This emphasis on individual artistry and teamwork is also demonstrated in our school musicals, where students come together to create something memorable, supporting each other every step of the way.
Nurturing Academic Excellence and Leadership
This journey ensures that by the time students reach Sixth Form, they have developed a deep sense of self, purpose, and ambition. They receive tailored academic support and opportunities to excel, which provide advanced training, mentorship, and leadership development, ensuring their learning aligns with their interests and future goals. This highly individualised academic experience prepares each girl to step confidently into higher education and beyond.
A Holistic Approach that Celebrates Every Girl
We’re committed to guiding our girls through a rich and rewarding journey that goes beyond academics. From character-building in Nursery to leadership in Sixth Form, our individualised approach ensures that every student feels empowered, supported, and inspired. We are here to celebrate their successes, encourage their dreams, and teach them that resilience, compassion, and courage are at the heart of lifelong learning.
