Prior Park Pupil Bears Olympic Torch on London Eye

Published on isbi School News dated Tuesday 14th of August 2012

Prior Park Year 12 pupil and the youngest person to ski to the South Pole, Amelia Hempleman-Adams was given the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch on the London Eye.

Amelia was asked just a week before the event if she would be a torch bearer on one of London's most iconic tourist attractions - the London Eye. The remarkable images of her holding the Olympic Torch aloft, while standing in a specially-built cage on top of one of the capsules, hundreds of feet above ground, have been beamed around the world.

The College congratulates Amelia on another feat that has capped a tremendous year for her. See more images in the Image Gallery.
