Tudor Hall Pupil Achieves Highest Mark in the World at IGCSE

Published by Tudor Hall on Monday 10th of March 2025

Huge congratulations to Leyla in IVs (Year 10) who, after sitting her IGCSE Italian examination in IIIs (Year 9) last year, was this week awarded an Outstanding Cambridge Learner certificate for gaining the highest score in the world.

Deputy Head (Academic) Simon Smith, handed Leyla her certificate from Cambridge IGCSE exam board, saying "Extraordinary is a much over-used word, but on this occasion it is entirely apt, especially as Leyla sat the exam last summer whilst in Year 9."

Boarding pupil Leyla started studying Italian when her family moved to Rome four years ago and, with the guidance of her Italian teacher at Tudor Hall, Mr Harper, she is thrilled with her result.
