Stowe Polo Success

Published by Stowe School on Friday 7th of February 2025

On Thursday 6 February, Stowe’s A and B polo teams played Harrow. The Stowe A team was led by captain Luca Natella (Upper Sixth, Cobham), followed by Bea Leyland (Lower Sixth, Queen’s) and Edward Berry (Fourth Form, Cobham). The As played an attack heavy match with Luca scoring an overwhelming number of goals in the 18-12 win. Bea and Ed had their fair share of action, scoring a couple of nice goals themselves. This was quite remarkable play, given that it was the first time this trio had played together. Expect much more to come from this team as the season progresses.

The Stowe B team played a tough match, going goal for goal with Harrow. Captained by Jasper Hagger (Fourth Form, Walpole), with Fiamma Natella (Third Form, Queen’s) and Stirling Woolner (Third Form, Grafton) they certainly did not let Harrow just walk away with the win. They battled it out to the very last second with Stirling very nearly scoring an equalising goal in the last minute. Overall, it was an impressive and exciting outing for both teams. With such depth and potential on display the future of Stowe polo is looking incredibly bright.
