World Book Day 2025

Published by Hallfield School on Friday 7th of March 2025

The school was alive with excitement as hundreds of enthusiastic children and staff filled the halls and classrooms, dressed in magnificent costumes inspired by their favourite books. Pupils and parents enjoyed a delightful breakfast while losing themselves in the pages of their cherished stories.

In Pre-Prep, author Jane Swainston’s visit was a highlight, captivating each year group with her stories and inspiring them to craft their own tales. With Jane’s guidance, children learned to stretch their imaginations and create unique narratives of their own.

Meanwhile, in the Prep assembly, author Sarah Todd Taylor joined the festivities. Pupils eagerly engaged in how to write a book like Sarah’s detective series. She also took us through the journey of how we would have passed messages around the world – via a pigeon!

The children took part in many activities like the ‘character hunt competition’, the ‘National Book Token’ competition, ‘Murder Mystery Challenge’ and ‘Author workshops’.
