U12

The U12s played with heart and determination in a round-robin format, battling against some tough opponents. Across eight matches, they faced St Andrews, Seaford, Brighton, Roedean, Windlesham, Burgess Hill, and Mayfield. Despite the misty start to the day, the sun shone through, and so did the team’s talent. Their only loss came at the hands of Brighton Girls, a closely fought match decided by just two goals. Brighton Girls would go on to win the U12 division, but our team can hold their heads high, finishing runners-up.

A special mention goes to Orla from Year 5, who stepped up to play alongside the Year 7s in her debut appearance. She certainly turned heads with her confident and skillful performance — a star in the making!

U13

The U13 team demonstrated their strength clinching the title after a series of hard-fought matches. In the group stage, they played four games, with their toughest challenge coming right at the start — a nail-biting win against Seaford by just one goal. The girls took this test in stride and went on to win their other group matches comfortably against St Andrews, Brighton College, and Cumnor. The semifinals saw them face Brighton Girls, a team with some talented players who pushed us hard. However, the girls dug deep, maintained composure, and secured a spot in the final.

The showdown for the championship was a rematch against Seaford — a team they had only narrowly beaten in the group stage. This time, the girls executed their game plan brilliantly, shutting down Seaford’s key shooter with determined defence and generating crucial turnovers in the centre third. Their focus and teamwork paid off, and they claimed a well-earned victory and the tournament title.
