Shrek! The Musical

On 12 and 13 March, it was finally time to unveil the Senior School production of Shrek! The Musical.

We had been rehearsing for months, to make sure that our moves were perfect. The set was built, the lights were rigged, and we were raring to go. As the audience found their seats in our packed out theatre space, we were warming up and excited about sharing our show. Tension was high and when the opening notes rang out, we rushed onto the stage to begin. We can safely say that the show was a roaring success from beginning to end.

Lauren was wonderful as the titular character, and was brilliantly aided by the hilarious Lily as Donkey, and Siyana and Orla as the two Fionas.

Laura was a deliciously camp Lord Farquaad and drew many laughs. Hettie was a fabulous Pinocchio in utter denial, and Freya an excellently outraged Gingerbread Man.

We are enormously grateful to everybody who helped put the show together, especially staff, who did so much behind the scenes. We are immensely proud to have been part of this wonderful show.

On the last night, it was great to see the superbly organised Backstage Crew come out to dance to 'I'm A Believer' and enjoy their own time in the limelight! The cast party on Friday was a great opportunity to look at photos and have a final singalong, and we are already all looking forward to our next show!
