We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from the MFL Department - our students have excelled in two national competitions.
In German, Charlotte P (Year 7–9 category) was awarded runner-up in the 2025 Oxford German Olympiad for her creative entry in the word puzzle challenge. Charlotte’s work earned her a place on the official competition website and an invitation to Oxford to receive her certificate- an exciting trip she will be making with her family..
In French, congratulations go to Jemima J (UIV) for receiving a Highly Commended award in Oxford’s French Flash Fiction Competition. Jemima impressed the judges with her creativity, imagination, and linguistic skill in crafting a very short story in French - a fantastic achievement that highlights both narrative flair and strong language ability.
You can read more about both competitions and the winning entries on the official competition websites:
Félicitations and Herzlichen Glückwunsch to our talented linguists - we’re incredibly proud of your achievements!
