Enrichment Week

This week, pupils across the year groups rounded off the academic year with an unforgettable Enrichment Week - five days packed with activities, challenges, and experiences that have brought learning to life beyond the classroom.

1st Form began their week with an overnight Scouts camp, singing songs around the campfire with Mr Last and learning essential survival skills under the guidance of Mr Hutchings. Meanwhile, 2nd Form ventured to the picturesque Jurassic Coast for a residential adventure, and 3rd Form took flight with RAF-themed outings, explored the Leicester Space Museum, and engaged in a science project day and journalism workshop. Other highlights included a visit to the Black Country Living Museum, a themed treasure hunt and picnic, and immersive World War Two activities led by Mr Ferrero.

In the Middle School, 4th Form pupils embraced the outdoors, hiking the Malvern Ridge and exploring the Heart of England. They took on low ropes courses, scavenger hunts, STEM challenges, climbing walls, and watersports. A special congratulations goes to our Silver Duke of Edinburgh group, who completed their expedition during the week. The grand finale today saw the entire year group tackle escape rooms, archery, and tug of war.

Lower Sixth pupils took on even greater challenges; a Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition in the Lake District, Combined Cadet Force camps, and a residential walk, bike, and paddleboard adventure in Minehead. On Thursday, pupils gave back to the community during a volunteering day, thoughtfully organised by Mrs Kilmister.

In the evenings, pupils enjoyed a lively programme of events, including cinema nights, pool parties, games, cricket, a Slip ‘n’ Slide, and this evening, the eagerly awaited Summer Music Concert.

All in all, Enrichment Week 2025 has been a reminder of how education extends far beyond the classroom, providing space for creativity, curiosity, resilience, and joy.
