St. Aubyn’s Celebrates Outstanding ISI Inspection
Published by St Aubyn's School on Monday 4th of August 2025
We are delighted to share the outcomes of our latest inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), which took place in May 2025. The report affirms the school’s commitment to academic excellence, personal development, and a nurturing community, with every standard fully met and no action points identified.Early Years Provision Recognised as a National Benchmark
In a remarkable accolade, the ISI singled out the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as a “Significant Strength” – a rare distinction awarded only when provision surpasses national expectations. The report praised the “precision” of teaching, the “deeply reflective culture” among staff, and the “rapid, sustained progress” made by children in the early years.
Receiving a Significant Strength commendation from the ISI is a rare honour, with only around 11% of independent schools inspected achieving this distinction. What makes St. Aubyn’s achievement even more exceptional is that our Early Years Foundation Stage was specifically highlighted as a Significant Strength. A recognition awarded to only a handful of schools nationwide. This places St. Aubyn’s among the very top tier of independent schools in the country for Early Years provision. Which, further underscores the outstanding quality of care, teaching, and learning offered to our youngest pupils.
A Thriving Community of Excellence
The school’s Head, Mr. Louis Taylor commented,“This report is a powerful affirmation of our values and vision. It reflects the strength of our leadership, the care shown by staff, and the outstanding achievements of our pupils. I’m especially proud of the recognition given to our Early Years team and the difference that they make every day to the progress of our pupils.”
