SQA Exam Results 2025

We are delighted to congratulate St Columba’s pupils on another outstanding set of results in the SQA examinations with excellent pass rates and a very high percentage of top grades across all levels.

Senior IV National 5 Results

· 96.2% pass rate

· 71.7% A grades

· Over 50% of candidates achieved 7 or more A grades (50.9%)

· 20% of candidates achieved 9 A grades

· 100% A grades in Latin, Music and Spanish

· Over 80% A grades in Chemistry, History, Modern Studies and Applications of Maths

 Senior V Higher Results

· 90.7% pass rate

· 59.1% A grades

· Almost one third of candidates achieved 5 As (31.3%)

· 100% A grades in Art, Music and Spanish

· Over 80% A grades in Classical Studies and History

SVI Advanced Higher Results

· 89.9% pass rate

· 53.2% A grades

· Three quarters of results were A or B grade

· More than one third of pupils who took three subjects at this level achieved straight A passes

· 100% A grades in History, Spanish and Music

· Over 80% As in French and Physics

For many of the Class of 2025, today also brought an end to the tension of waiting to find out if they had achieved the conditions for their university offers. 98% of pupils who applied to UK universities have been accepted at their firm choice of university and our very best wishes go with them as they begin a new exciting phase in their education.

These excellent results reflect the hard work, commitment and resilience of our pupils and their teachers but they are just one part of the rounded education that we aim to deliver at St Columba’s School. As well as achieving outstanding academic success, amongst these pupils there are talented musicians, public speakers and athletes as well as compassionate and aspirational individuals. Our warmest congratulations go to everyone receiving results today, whatever their success has been, and especially to the Class of 2025 as they embark on new adventures.
