Culford is celebrating its highest GCSE results on record and a new benchmark for academic success, with 53% of grades awarded at 9-7 and 97% awarded at 9-4.

Particular successes include Charlie R, who achieved an incredible suite of straight 9s, with Betsey B, Arlo B, Dillon B, Téo B, Ella B, Livvy B, Connie F, Amelia H-Y, Poppy H, Phoebe J, Holly J, Jack S, Chloe W and Anna W, all achieving suites of 9s and 8s. Early indications show an uplift of 0.85 value-added across all ability levels and subjects, another record-breaking statistic for Culford.

Head, Claire Bentley, praised the achievement:
“These results represent one of the strongest academic performances we’ve seen in recent years. They are a well-deserved reflection of the remarkable dedication and determination shown by our Upper Fifth pupils, supported every step of the way by our committed staff. I couldn’t be prouder of this year group - they’ve been an absolute joy to teach, and I have every confidence they will achieve even greater things as they move into the Sixth Form.”

As part of the celebrations, families were welcomed into the newly renovated Sixth Form Common Room, which has undergone a stunning transformation over the summer. Made possible through the generous legacy of former governor Michael Keall (OC 1946-1950), the reimagined space provides pupils with a purpose-built hub at the very heart of Culford Hall. With stunning views across the South Lawn, the Common Room will offer an inspiring setting for pupils as they embark on their Sixth Form journey this September.

Culford's 97% 9-4 pass rate stands in sharp contrast to the national average, which has slipped once again to 64.7%.
