Student Named Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet
Published by Hurstpierpoint College on Wednesday 15th of October 2025
We are proud to announce that CSgt Callum C has been selected as a Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet, a rare and distinguished honour for our CCF.
This marks the first time in many years that one of our cadets has received this recognition.
The Lord-Lieutenant serves as the King’s personal representative in each county; their role is to uphold the dignity of the Crown by promoting a spirit of co-operation within the county. They do this by encouraging voluntary service and charitable work as well as taking an interest in all aspects of cultural life in West Sussex. The Lord-Lieutenant also presents awards, medals, and honours to members of the Armed Forces, and acts as a key liaison with Cadet Forces.
In West Sussex, this role is held by Lady Emma Barnard. In his new role, CSgt C will assist Lady Barnard in carrying out her duties and represent the CCF and Hurst College on a national stage.
This appointment reflects CSgt C’s dedication, integrity, and the huge amount of work that he has devoted to the CCF over the years at Hurst. CSgt C has been a pillar of the CCF, attending all camps and courses and proving himself to be an excellent leader in high-pressure scenarios.
CSgt C has also recently founded the CCF NCO Society along with some of his fellow UVI Cadets. In this group he attends the Middle School elective to impart his knowledge and experience through training those junior cadets who wish to learn a little more. It is inspiring to see such a dedicated young person giving so much back to the CCF.
Congratulations, Callum, a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for Hurst, we wish you luck in this new role.
