The Grove Goes 100% Renewable

Published by Woodhouse Grove School (Bronte House) on Wednesday 1st of October 2025

We are excited to share a significant milestone in our commitment to environmental sustainability: as of October 1st, Woodhouse Grove School and Brontë House are now powered entirely by renewable electricity through our partnership with Bryt Energy. From lighting our classrooms to powering our extensive facilities, we are now operating with a dramatically reduced carbon footprint.

From our Sustainability and Energy Officer, Michelle Howard:

‘Through our partnership with Bryt Energy, every kilowatt we use now comes from wind, solar, or hydro sources, not fossil fuels. We’re proud to take this step toward a cleaner, greener future.

Why This Matters

At Woodhouse Grove, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom. Part of preparing our pupils for the world they’ll encounter means instilling a strong sense of environmental and social responsibility. By making the switch to renewable energy, we not only reduce our environmental impact but actively demonstrate to our students that positive environmental change is both possible and necessary.

Leading by Example

As we continue to develop as a school, environmental responsibility remains at the heart of our decision-making, ensuring that Woodhouse Grove and Brontë House remain an inspiring place to learn and grow for generations to come.

I am individual, yet I am part of something incredible.
