Year 7 Explore Shakespeare’s Globe

86 excited Year 7 pupils embarked on a memorable journey to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, immersing themselves in the world of Elizabethan drama and theatrical history.
The trip was designed to help pupils understand the unique environment in which William Shakespeare wrote his plays. By visiting the iconic reconstruction of the original Globe Theatre, students gained insight into the staging, audience interaction, and atmosphere that shaped Shakespeare’s work.
A highlight of the day was experiencing a live performance of one of Shakespeare’s comedies. This engaging and energetic production brought the Bard’s language to life, helping students connect with the text in a vivid and accessible way. The performance served as a valuable introduction to Shakespeare’s style, ahead of their upcoming studies of one of his comedic plays.
Beyond the academic benefits, the trip aimed to foster a love of theatre and live performance. For many pupils, it was their first time attending a professional production, and the experience sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for the dramatic arts.
