Year 7 Careers Event

A carousel of six speakers representing a broad range of careers provided Year 7 with valuable insights into various professional journeys whilst engaging with the speakers through interactive sessions.
In the Science Lecture Theatre, Maisie Hobbs, a Specification Engineer at Schneider Electric, captivated the pupils with a role-playing activity that demonstrated the life cycle of an engineering project. Tabitha Streater, a Scenic Artist for Film/TV/Theatre, brought in fascinating tools and backdrops from productions like Wicked and the Sydney Opera House, offering a glimpse into the world of scenic artistry. Zack Pinsent, the Founder of Pinsent Tailoring, showcased his exceptional tailoring craftsmanship and shared stories of his global career.
In the Prep School classroom, students had an enriching experience with guest speakers from various fields. Catherine Sykes, VP Global Product Development at Jo Malone, delighted pupils with a limited-edition fragrance dedicated to Paddington Bear and provided insights into the fragrance industry. Holly Mahal, a Narrative Designer at Fireshine Games, gave students a taste of creating stories for video games, highlighting this emerging career path. Jeremy Head, a Creative Content Strategist and Copywriter, offered a deeper understanding of the importance of copywriting in advertising and marketing, using real-life examples of ad campaigns.
The event was a unique opportunity for students to ask questions and gain inspiration from the diverse career paths presented, leaving them with a broader understanding of the possibilities that lie ahead.
