Unity Week

Unity Week gives us all a chance to celebrate who we are and learn more about each other's cultures. One of my favourite parts is always the Faith and Culture Fair; I love being able to share my own Punjabi culture in small ways and to see classmates proud to represent their backgrounds too. It is really special to know that our differences are recognised and appreciated in our school community. This was also my first big project as Head Girl, which made the week even more exciting. I'm so proud of all the hard work that went on behind the scenes from the Prefect Team and so many other girls who supported us and helped bring Unity Week to life. With so much happening each day, it was amazing to see everyone stepping up, working together, and showing what pupil leadership can achieve when we really get stuck into our roles. I was especially proud that we introduced the Culture Parade this year, something we had wanted to bring to Unity Week. It was incredible to see so many girls taking part and expressing themselves through their traditional clothing - a real moment of confidence and celebration. Another highlight of the week was definitely the army boot camp, which really pushed us out of our comfort zones and showed the strength and resilience of our community in such a fun (and slightly wet!) way. Finally, ending the week with a special Mass really brought everything together, reminding us that unity isn't just about big events, it's about the everyday respect, kindness and understanding we show one another.
