Vicki Anstey Workshop

Year 10 had the privilege of having a workshop with Vicki Anstey, whose story of resilience and emotional strength had a lasting impression on everyone in the room. Vicki shared her experience of sailing across treacherous waters with just two other people who she did not know but neither of whom treated her very kindly. Despite the challenges, she finished her journey with courage and grace, showing us all what it means to stay true to yourself even when others make it difficult. Her workshop wasn't just about adventure, it was about emotions. Vicki spoke about how as humans we can very easily turn to anger or frustration and we talked about how these feelings can often arise. She helped us to recognise these feelings and we talked about what we can do to become calm again. Vicki reminded us that strength isn't just about pushing through, it's also about understanding ourselves.
