Brentwood School soprano extraordinaire Rose Buggle has been awarded the distinguished Freda Parry Award for Under-29s, receiving a cash prize of £1,500.

At just 15 years old, Rose’s achievement is nothing short of extraordinary and highlights her exceptional talent and dedication to classical singing.

The Freda Parry Scholarship Fund hosts an annual singing competition before a public audience in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, providing a platform for young, aspiring singers to showcase their artistry. Eligible competitors must be singing students resident in Essex, competing for the Fund’s top £1,500 award.

For Rose, a gifted classical singer and dedicated musician, this award marks the latest in an impressive string of accolades. A Year 11 virtuoso on Brentwood School’s Specialist Music Programme, Rose also studies at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama with whom Brentwood enjoys a strong partnership. Rose dreams of following in her grandmother’s footsteps to become a professional opera singer, and this award is a significant milestone on her path toward a future on the operatic stage.

Head of Brentwood School of Music, Mr Florian Cooper proudly commented: “Rose Buggle is fast becoming one of the leading young talents in the national classical singing picture. We are incredibly proud of her multiple achievements and the many successes she is enjoying are testament to her extreme commitment, determined work ethic and fabulous talents.”
