Prior’s Court young people set for return to GENerate Art Exhibition
Published by Prior's Court School on Wednesday 31st of December 2025
For the second successive year, young people from Prior’s Court will have their artwork exhibited publicly at exhibition of arwork by West Berkshire students.
The annual GENerate: Student Art Exhibition showcases artwork created by students from West Berkshire schools, sixth forms and colleges, and will take place at The Base, an arts venue in Greenham. The exhibition will run from Friday, 9 January to Sunday, 25 January 2026 and will be open to the public Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
This year, the artworks made by autistic young people with complex needs at Prior’s Court selected for exhibiting are:
- Shadow Fern, by Ewan H
- “I See You”, by Alexander and Louis B
- Fading Botanica, by Louis B
- Crossroads, by Ryan
- Wisteria 1 and Wisteria 2, by Jenny, Toby and Daniel L
The pieces reflect a broad range of artistic techniques, including mono printing, mixed media painting, collage and cyanotype photography on cotton, and all have been made as part of sessions in our Land-based learning programme.
Sammi Yarwood, Land-based Instructor at Prior’s Court, who led on the artwork submissions, said: The young people have put a huge amount of thought and care into these pieces, and it’s fantastic to see their work recognised again in a public exhibition. All artwork put forward for public display has been chosen by the young people themselves. These are pieces they decided not to take back to on-site residential home, with families also opting not to display them at home, ensuring that the decision to exhibit respects personal choice while prioritising each young person’s sense of ownership over their work.
The exhibition at The Base follows further success in December, when artwork by Prior’s Court young people was displayed at City Arts Newbury.
