We are thrilled to share some momentous news from our Maths department – one of our pupils, Anastazja, has been awarded the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship – one of the most sought-after accolades for aspiring engineers in the UK.

Being named an Arkwright Scholar recognises Anastazja not just for her academic excellence, but for her potential to become a future leader in the engineering profession.

What is the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship?

For those who may not be familiar with the program, the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is a national scheme designed to identify, inspire, and nurture the next generation of UK engineering talent.

The selection process is notoriously rigorous and includes:

  • A Detailed Application: Showcasing technical projects and a commitment to engineering.

  • A Two-Hour Aptitude Exam: Testing creative problem-solving and practical application of theoretical knowledge.

  • A Professional Interview: Where candidates must discuss their projects and engineering aspirations with a panel of experts.

An Exciting Future Path

As an Arkwright Scholar, Anastazja will receive a suite of benefits to support her journey through the rest of her time at St Columba’s and beyond. A huge thank you to Mr Stark who supported Anastazja throughout the journey.

We are incredibly proud to see Anastazja join the ranks of these elite young engineers. Please join us in congratulating heron this phenomenal achievement. We cannot wait to see the incredible innovations she will undoubtedly bring to the world in the years to come.
