In 2011, Wisdom School was one of the 10 winners of the Npower Climate Cops SOS competition. The team of 10 from Wisdom submitted an excellent video showing that even in a small city school, it is possible to be green and care about the environment. The judges were impressed with the students' enthusiasm and their belief that a small school with a big heart can make a difference, they showed good evidence of engaging with the wider community. The students threw themselves into the activities at the Npower Green SOS Outward Bound course, taking on gorge-walking, tunneling, rafting and camping in the challenging Lake District environment.

"When we wanted to launch the Climate Cops SOS 2012 competition, we turned to Wisdom school to help us. A team joined us at Tower Bridge in London with Ray Mears our 2012 ambassador to learn bush-craft skills like making a fire, building a shelter and tying knots."
