Big Garden Birdwatch at KES Prep

Published by King Edward VI Preparatory on Wednesday 4th of February 2026

Our pupils have been making the most of the great outdoors by taking part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch. Using our wildlife hide and outdoor learning spaces, they have been carefully observing and recording the wide variety of birds visiting our school grounds.

The past two weeks have been full of exciting discoveries, with children enjoying the challenge of spotting and identifying different species. From cheerful robins to lively blue tits, the range of birdlife seen has been both inspiring and educational. Working together, our pupils are developing a deeper appreciation of nature while learning how to care for and protect the world around them.
