Ripley Court Art Club Visit National Gallery

Our Extended Art Club pupils enjoyed a wonderful day @NationalGallery this term. The visit focused on an Early Renaissance masterpiece by Cosimo Tura – A Muse (Calliope?) – as part of the Gallery’s Take One Picture project. This inspiring work will now be the starting point for the children’s own creative explorations.

They also took time for en plein air sketching before enjoying highlights from across the Gallery, including works by Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, John Constable and J. M. W. Turner. Seeing these iconic paintings in real life was a real treat.

With time left over to enjoy lunch in Trafalgar Square, it was a thoroughly inspiring visit.✨
