Outstanding Performances Across Athletics, Cross Country, and Hockey

Congratulations to our talented students who have achieved some remarkable results across multiple sports in recent national and regional competitions
Last week, the cross country team competed at the London Cross Country Championships at Wormwood Scrubs. The team displayed grit and determination, with Olly (Year 13) securing a silver medal in the Senior boys’ race, earning qualification for the London team. Meanwhile, the Intermediate boys team achieved an impressive second place overall.
In hockey, the girls’ Under 13 team reached the ISHC Plate Finals, hosted at Beeston Hockey Club in Nottingham. The team faced tough opponents, including RGS Worcester and Dame Allen’s, and battled hard throughout the day to take 4th place. This experience marked a valuable introduction to national-level competition. Special recognition goes to Izzy (Year 6) and Emilia (Year 7) for their contributions on the day.
Finally, Emily (Year 12) delivered a standout performance at the England Athletics Indoor National Championships in Sheffield. Competing in the Women’s Under 20 200m final, Emily took bronze in a closely contested race, recording her fastest time of the day at 24.43 seconds. This is an exceptional achievement and a reflection of Emily’s dedication and commitment to athletics.
Very well done to all, and we look forward to seeing the continued success their skill, determination and sportsmanship will inevitably bring in future competitions.
