New Collaboration with Cinque Ports Sailing
Published by Dover College on Monday 23rd of March 2026
Faithfully watched over by the iconic White Cliffs, Dover College occupies a unique location in the UK, and we are delighted to announce the beginning of an exciting new collaboration with Cinque Ports Sailing in Dover.
From the Summer Term 2026, all Dover College pupils will have the opportunity to learn to sail, embracing the opportunities offered by our unique coastal location. Sailing develops confidence, resilience and teamwork, giving pupils the chance to challenge themselves, build independence and gain experiences that will stay with them long after they leave the College.Sailing has traditionally been an important part of Dover College’s identity, reflecting the school’s historic connection with the sea and the town itself. We are therefore particularly pleased to be revitalising this link through our partnership with Cinque Ports Sailing, while also supporting a valued local organisation and contributing to the wider Dover community.
This initiative has been kindly supported and funded by the Old Dovorians, whose continued generosity plays a vital role in helping the College expand opportunities for our pupils. We are extremely grateful for their ongoing support and their commitment to ensuring that Dover College continues to go from strength to strength. This sailing programme marks the first in a series of exciting developments that will be announced over the coming year. New initiatives, alongside continued improvements to facilities, will be announced over the coming months as we continue to strengthen and broaden the Dover College experience. Our approach is built around sustainable investment, ensuring that new opportunities for pupils are carefully balanced with long term stability and security. In today’s educational landscape, this balance is essential, allowing us to expand what we offer while giving parents confidence in the future of the school. We look forward to seeing Dover College pupils taking to the water in the months ahead.
