The U13 IAPS Netball team delivered an impressive performance at the National Finals, demonstrating determination, skill and teamwork throughout a demanding day of competition.
The squad opened the tournament with confidence, securing a strong run of results and scoring freely despite battling challenging windy conditions. Their final group match against Hoebridge proved particularly tense. After taking a 2–0 lead into halftime, the team found it harder to convert chances in the second half. A few difficult decisions disrupted their rhythm, allowing Hoebridge to pull level. The match ended in a draw, though the result was enough to confirm the team’s position at the top of their group.
Finishing first earned the team a well-deserved place in the Cup quarterfinals, where they faced a resilient Dean Close side. The contest was tight from start to finish, with the scores level at both halftime and fulltime. Extra time brought five minutes of intense, nail-biting netball, but despite their best efforts, the team conceded twice and narrowly missed out on progressing further. Even so, securing eighth place nationally is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the team’s quality and determination.
