Published on isbi School News dated Wednesday 5th of December 2012

Edward Walker (Head of School) and Harry Browne, both boarders at Old Swinford Hospital, Stourbridge, competed in their first Triathlon finishing in very respectable times of 1 hour 19 minutes and 1 hour 25 minutes respectively.
The 17-year-old students entered the 'Sprint' category in The Warwickshire Triathlon which comprises a 400m swim, 23km cycle and a 5km run.

Speaking after the event Edward said 'Initially we set ourselves the challenge of completing a triathlon and then decided to make it more worthwhile by raising money for the Pocklington Trust as we have entertained the residents at the Stourbridge centre with the OSH music groups. The Trust offers people who are blind or have sight loss the support they require to lead an independent life.'

On receiving a cheque for £1,500, Jackie Tromans, Day Opportunity Support Worker said 'The money will be put to good use to improve our sensory garden enabling our service users to enjoy the outside space we have.'
