Pupils at The Oratory Prep School are celebrating a remarkable set of results after several swimmers and relay teams qualified for the prestigious IAPS National Swimming Finals, taking place at the iconic London Aquatic Centre on Saturday 6th June.

The school’s talented swimmers secured their places amongst the top 20 qualifying times in the country, a significant achievement in one of the UK’s most competitive prep school swimming events.

Leading the way is Alexandria, currently ranked 2nd nationally in the U12 Girls’ 50m Breaststroke. Harry is ranked 3rd in the U10 Boys’ 50m Butterfly, while Elodie has qualified in 14th place in the U11 Girls’ 50m Butterfly.

The school's relay teams have also enjoyed exceptional success. The U12 Girls’ Freestyle Relay Team is currently ranked 14th nationally. The U10 Boys’ Freestyle Relay Team is ranked 11th.

These outstanding results reflect the dedication, determination and commitment shown by the swimmers throughout the year, alongside the strength of the school’s swimming programme. Swimming is a central part of life at The Oratory Prep School, where pupils swim in the school’s 25-metre indoor pool from the age of three. With swim squads running from Year 3 upwards, pupils are given the opportunity to develop confidence, technique and competitive experience from an early age.

Head of Swimming, Jess Taylor, said:

“I am incredibly proud of all our swimmers who have qualified for the IAPS National Finals. To have pupils and relay teams ranked amongst the very best in the country is a tremendous achievement. Their success is the result of many early mornings, hours of training and a genuine love of the sport. We look forward to cheering them on at the London Aquatic Centre.”

The finals will bring together the top prep school swimmers from across the country in what promises to be an exciting day of competition.
