Outstanding A Level and BTEC Results Celebrated

Millfield Upper Sixth students are celebrating today after receiving their A level and BTEC results. The top 100 students, comparable to the size of most school Sixth Form cohorts, achieved 73% A* to A grades at A Level. The year group of 305 students achieved 84% A* to C grades and 69% of BTEC results at Distinction* or Distinction.
Joby B is this year’s top achiever, receiving an exceptional four A* grades in Economics, Mathematics, Further Maths and Physics. A boarder from Cornwall, Joby joined Millfield for Sixth Form in 2024 on a football scholarship, following an exceptional youth football career where he represented Cornwall, and was the recipient of the Lord Lieutenant’s Fund Young and Talented Award due to his exceptional potential. Joby won the Senior House Maths competition for Butleigh House in 2026, despite only having half a team, utilising incredible integration skills. Looking forward, he has been accepted into the Morgan Stanley: Step In, Step Up Foundations in Finance Programme this summer, which aims to identify undiscovered talent whilst supporting socioeconomic diversity and kick start the careers of Upper Sixth students who are interested in the finance industry and/or STEM. Joby is heading to the London School of Economics on a full scholarship.
Daisy D, from Greater Manchester, joined Millfield for Sixth Form in 2024, and is a boarder in Abbey House. She achieved A*, A*, A* in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths. During her time at Millfield, Daisy has been the recipient of an academic scholarship and taken part in multiple sports such as Netball, Tennis, and Volleyball. Outside of school, Daisy has volunteered at a remote hospital in Ghana and with the Pachamama Project, a UK-registered charity growing a network of volunteers around the world to make reusable period pads for refugees and vulnerable people who experience period poverty. Daisy heads to Newcastle University to study Medicine and Surgery.
Alex H is a day student from Woodbridge, who joined Millfield in Year 10. Today Alex achieved A*, A*, A*, A in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. Alex taught himself A Level Maths and completed the qualification a year earlier than his peers. He was the recipient of the Physics Academic Attainment award and was recognised for his academic commitment awards at this year’s Prize Giving. He also achieved gold in this year's Chemistry Olympiad, placing him in the top 8.5% nationally. Alongside academics, he has made the most of the varied sports on offer, taking part in Swimming, Sailing and Karate where he has passed his blue belt. Alex secured a spot at the University of Exeter to study Natural Sciences.
Dana L, a boarder from London, joined Millfield in Lower Sixth. She achieved A*, A*, A* in Biology, History, and Geography. Dana received an award for Academic Attainment in Geography at the 2026 Millfield Prize Giving, as well as being recognised for her Academic Commitment. Dana is heading to Kings College London to study Law.
Will M-H, a day student from Glastonbury, received A*, A*, A* in Economics, Physical Education and Geography. Will has been part of the Millfield community since joining Millfield Pre-Prep in 2010 at the age of 2. He departs following 16 years of attending Millfield, and served as Captain of School during Year 8 at Millfield Prep School. Will is an exceptional hockey player; he captained the First XI this year and was awarded for Hockey Accomplishment at this year’s Millfield Prize Giving. He also played National League Club Hockey during the 2025-2026 season. Will is also a talented musician and achieved Grade 8 for drumming this year. Will has secured a place at University of Exeter to study Business Economics.
Alexander S, a boarder from Bangkok, Thailand, joined Millfield in Lower Sixth. Today he achieved A*, A*, A* in Maths, Business Studies and Politics. Alexander received an award for Academic Attainment in Government and Politics at this year’s Millfield Prize Giving, as well as being recognised for his Academic Commitment. Alexander is also a keen footballer.
Olivia S, a boarder from China, joined Millfield Prep School in Year 8 and today achieved A*, A*, A* in Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science. An accomplished mathematician, Olivia achieved a Distinction in the Mathematical Competition for Girls, a 90-minute problem-solving math challenge run by the UK Mathematics Trust. She was recognised for her Academic Attainment in Computer Science at this year’s Millfield Prize Giving. Olivia is going to Kings College, London to study Computer Science.
Evelyn W, a boarder from Hampshire, has received A*, A*, A* in Business Studies, History and Spanish. Evelyn served as a prefect, and was recognised for her Academic Attainment in History, alongside her Academic Commitment, at the 2026 Millfield Prize Giving. An accomplished athlete, Evelyn represented the Girls’ First Teams in both Rugby and Football and has been part of England Touch Rugby squads. Evelyn is going to the University of Exeter to study Law.
Daniel B is a day student from Somerset, who joined Millfield Prep in Year 7. Daniel received A*, A*, A* A in Music, French, Psychology and Spanish. Daniel is a swimmer and high-level musician. He was the school’s top achiever in his GCSE results two years ago. Daniel was part of the percussion ensemble, Striking Sounds, who competed at the prestigious Pro Corda Festival, securing the title of Pro Corda U19 National Champions of Chamber Music. Daniel heads to Durham University to do Combined Honours and Social Sciences.
Jamie B is a day student from Somerton, Somerset. Today he received A*, A*, A*, A in Economics, Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Jamie joined Millfield Prep School in Year 5 and has been part of the Millfield Community for nine years. Jamie served as a prefect during his Upper Sixth year and was a recipient of the Millfield Diploma Platinum. Jamie has accepted a place at the University of Warwick, studying Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics (MORSE).
Beau G is a boarder from Jersey, who joined Millfield in Year 9. Beau has achieved A*, A*, A*, A in Maths, Physics, Computer Science and Further Maths. Alongside his academics, Beau balances a very busy cricket schedule, where he represents the school's first team, and loves all outdoor pursuits. He was a recipient of the Millfield Diploma Platinum award this year. Beau is going to the University of Bristol to study Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
Will B joined Millfield Prep as a boarder in Year 6. Today he celebrates achieving D*, D*, D in BTEC Art and Design, and an A in A level Media Studies. Will was awarded Academic Attainment for BTEC Art and Design and recognised for his academic commitment at this year’s Prize Giving. He also achieved the Millfield Brilliance Award. Will is heading to the University of Manchester to study Liberal Arts.
Raiyaa A H, from Oman, joined Millfield for Sixth Form and is a boarder in Warner House. She achieved A*, A*, A in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. During her time at Millfield, she won gold in the national Chemistry Olympiad and served as a prefect. Raiyaa received awards for academic attainment in Chinese, while also achieving the Millfield Diploma Platinum and a Millfield Brilliance Award at this year’s Prize Giving. Raiyaa was a large contributor to this year’s Millfield Peace Vigil, an event which brings together Millfield and the local community to reflect on world peace and peace in our community.
Charlie L is a boarder from Clevedon who joined Millfield in Year 9. Charlie received A*, A*, A in Business Studies, Physical Education and Economics. Charlie has been a huge contributor to the Millfield Boys' Hockey and Cricket teams throughout his time at Millfield and has played Premier League National Hockey this season. Charlie has secured a place at the University of Exeter to study Business Economics.
Will H, a boarder from Shepton Mallett, achieved A*, A*, A in Photography, Geography and Biology. An exceptional photographer, Will produced groundbreaking work for his final A level piece, which included highly detailed images of insects using a unique focus stacking method. Will is a music scholar, and performed in a wide range of ensembles including Jazz Band, Wind Orchestra, Brass Ensemble and Orchestra, as well as singing in the choir and competing in Millfield Musician of the Year. Alongside his musical achievements, he was a dedicated member of the school's Clay Shooting team, sharing in a number of successes, while also completing his Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award, serving on the Eco Committee and embracing Millfield's Outdoor Education programme. Will plans to spend the next year travelling through Central and South America, focusing on conservation and wildlife photography before beginning a degree in Conservation Biology and Ecology.
Arlo J joined Millfield Prep in Year 5 as a day student. He received D*, D* in BTEC Sport and B in A Level Business Studies. He was awarded the Academic Attainment for BTEC Sport award at this year’s Millfield Prize Giving. He also achieved Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s award this year. Throughout his eight years at Millfield, he has also taken part in many sports including Golf, Hockey and Rugby. Arlo is heading to the University of Exeter to study Business Management.
Tyson N joined Millfield for Sixth Form from Vietnam. He achieved D*, D* in BTEC Sport and B in A level Business Studies. Alongside his academics, he is a keen tennis player and footballer. Tyson is going to Las Roches, Switzerland to study Business Administration.
Angie B is boarder who joined Millfield from Hong Kong in Year 10. Today she received A*, A*, A, A in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Angie is a footballer and rugby player, playing both sports at a high level. In her spare time, she also learnt to play the electric guitar. Angie will now head to the United States to attend Brown University.
Emily B has achieved five A Levels and an AS Level, placing her in the top 0.1% nationally for academic achievement. Today she achieved A*, A*, A, A in Maths, Physics, English Literature. She is one of less than 200 students of the 281,000 students sitting A levels in the UK to have completed five or more qualifications, equating to around 0.07% (based on 2025 stats). Having previously studied entirely in French while living in Switzerland, Emily joined Millfield at the start of Year 11. Rather than following the standard pathway, she progressed directly into a bespoke Lower Sixth programme, effectively skipping Year 11. During this transition year, she completed GCSE English and Mathematics while also achieving an A* in A Level French and an A in AS Level German. Beyond her exceptional academic record, Emily has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the wider life of the school. She has earned her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, served as a School Prefect, and this year has been Co-Captain of the Millfield Rowing Team. She has also been actively involved in drama productions, contributing both on stage and behind the scenes. Emily will now go on to study Physics at Durham University.
Freddie B, from Somerset, joined Millfield Prep School in Year 7, and has achieved A*, A*, A, A in Computer Science, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics. He is the first student ever to complete a CyberEPQ artefact by programming two blockchains, demonstrating exceptional technical innovation. Alongside his academic studies, Freddie has embraced the wide range of opportunities available at Millfield, participating in rugby, hockey, cricket, athletics, tennis and debating. As School Captain, he represented the student body and was also part of the Bath Rugby U18 squad for the 2025/26 season. In September, Freddie will study Computer Science at Magdalen College, Oxford, one of the UK's most competitive and academically demanding courses.
Magnus L, a boarder from North Berwick, received A*, A*, A, A in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Magnus joined Millfield for Sixth Form and has been a boarder in Butleigh House. Magnus has trained and competed in triathlons and cross-country races, representing Millfield during his time at the school. Magnus will study General Engineering at Durham University.
Azan T, a boarder from Beijing, China, joined Millfield for Sixth Form in 2024. He achieved A*, A*, A, A in Chemistry, Physical Education, Biology, and Maths. Azan has enjoyed playing a variety of sports in his time at Millfield, including Rugby, Football and Tennis. Azan is going to University College London (UCL) to Study Biomedical Sciences.
Gilad W is a boarder who joined Millfield from Israel for Sixth Form. He achieved A*, A*, A, A in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Physics. A talented Squash player, Gilad has represented Israel at U19 level. This autumn, he will take the next step in his journey as he heads to Amherst College in the United States, where he will continue to develop both his squash career and his academic ambitions.
Vansh S, a boarder from India, joined Millfield Prep in Year 8, and received D* in BTEC Music and A, A in A Level Business and Media Studies. He achieved the Academic Attainment award in Media Studies and was recognised for his Academic Commitment this year. He also achieved the Millfield Brilliance Award.
Charlie W, from Twickenham, joined Millfield as a boarder for Sixth Form and achieved D*, D in BTEC Sport and an A in A level Politics. He has participated in Rugby and Cricket during his time at Millfield. Charlie W heads to the University of Nottingham to study Geography with Business.
Congratulations to the following students, who have received a double D* in their BTEC subjects, with some also receiving an A level grade: Alfie M, Ella M, Leah M and Joss R. Further congratulations to Zac A, Abigail B, Gracie D, Megs H, Scarlett H, Freddie P, Beth R-E and Dexter T, who all achieved D*, D in their BTEC subjects, with all also receiving one A level grade.
Congratulations to Andre O, Amy B, Harri E, Freja E, Jacob F, Barnaby G, Muhtar G, Joseph H, Charlie M and Maisie S, who all achieved an average of above an A grade across their three A level subjects and to Eva H and Dhruv S, who achieved an average of above an A grade across all their four A level subjects.
Five Upper Sixth students are receiving their results today just weeks after competing in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Filip N, who won a gold and silver medal for Jersey, Megs H, who won a bronze medal for Wales, Sophie D, who swam for Wales, Ethan S-G, who swam for Antigua and Tilly C, who swam for Grenada, all achieved exceptional grades.
