Chigwell School Celebrates outstanding results

Chigwell School is delighted to celebrate another year of excellent A Level results, reflecting the hard work, resilience and ambition of our pupils, supported throughout by dedicated staff, parents and the wider school community.

This year’s leavers achieved outstanding outcomes, securing places at leading universities in the UK and some of the most competitive in the world. These include, Imperial College London, Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, King's College London, Warwick, Durham, Bristol and Sciences Po in Paris. The US has been a popular destination again this year with more pupils securing places to study at extremely competitive institutions such as Stanford, Princeton, New York University among others. They will go on to study a diverse range of subjects including medicine, law, engineering, architecture, economics, computing, and the humanities, such as PPE and philosophy, with degree apprenticeships featuring again this year.

Results included 20% were A*, 53% were A*-A and 79% were A*-B. Over 30% of the year group achieved 3 straight A* or A grades, while an impressive 100% achieved A*-A in their EPQs.

Alongside these academic achievements are many individual stories of perseverance, personal success and personal bests. Our pupils have demonstrated resilience, determination and character throughout their educational journey, overcoming challenges and striving to achieve their goals.

Individual highlights include, one pupil achieving one of the best marks in the UK in OCR Economics and will take up his place at UCL to study Economics in the coming weeks. Another pupil awarded 2 A*s and 3 As, a pupil with 4 A*s, and seven pupils achieving three or more A*s. 90% of pupils have been placed at their university of choice, of which 15% confirmed at overseas institutions.

"It has been a pleasure to work with this year group and their success is thoroughly deserved. We wish them every success in the next stage of their journey and hope they remain part of the Chigwell community for years to come."

We congratulate all of our leavers and look forward to following their future successes as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. While they may be leaving School, they will always remain part of the Chigwell family. Once a Chigwellian, always a Chigwellian, and we look forward to welcoming them back in the years ahead.
