Strong Results and Bright Futures for Upper Sixth

Kingham Hill School is proudly celebrating another strong year of academic achievement. 45% of all A Level, BTEC and CTEC grades were awarded at A*–A (or equivalent), significantly above the national average of 28.5%, with two thirds of all grades awarded at A*–B.
The results are a testament to the ambition, determination and dedication of our pupils, alongside the exceptional quality of teaching, guidance and support across the school.
Head, Pete Last said,
“Once again, our Upper Sixth pupils have demonstrated a remarkable level of commitment and maturity throughout their time at Kingham Hill. These results are a wonderful reflection of the hard work they have put in, and I am immensely proud of what they have achieved.
This year’s set of results reflect not only strong attainment, but also excellent progress, with our value-added statistics showing the significant progress pupils have made from their individual starting points. I would like to thank our dedicated teaching staff, whose expertise, encouragement and support have played such an important role in helping every pupil fulfil their potential.
It has been a privilege to watch these young people grow in confidence and character as they have flourished during their time at the school. I am delighted to see them begin the next chapter of their lives with such strong foundations.”
The breadth of achievement across the year group is particularly pleasing, with pupils succeeding across a wide range of A Level and vocational subjects.
Among this year’s successes are Milo who achieved two A*s in Chemistry and History, alongside an A in Biology, and has secured a place to study History at the University of Exeter. Jack achieved a Double Distinction in Sport, along with Merits in Animal Management and Business. He is now going to study Sport and Exercise Nutrition at Manchester Metropolitan University. Georgia achieved three A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics and will continue her academic journey at the University of Sheffield, where she will study Biomedical Science.
Reflecting on her results, Georgia said,
“I feel really relieved that the wait is finally over, and very happy that everything is confirmed. I’m really proud that all the hard work and effort I’ve put in since the start of Lower Sixth has paid off.”
Emily, who will study International Relations at the University of Exeter, said,
“We’ve had so much support from our teachers, and I’m particularly grateful to those who were always willing to give up their time to help us, even during the holidays. Kingham has been such a lovely place to be, but I am excited to start at Exeter and experience somewhere completely new.”
The school has also received praise from parents, with one reflecting,
“We are absolutely over the moon with these results. The school has given my daughter unwavering support, not only academically but emotionally too. Both my children have come through the school, and I have seen first-hand the care and encouragement they have received at every stage. I am incredibly grateful and delighted to be celebrating today.”
Pupils have secured places at a wide range of universities, including Russell Group institutions and specialist colleges. Destinations include UCL (University College London), King’s College London, the University of Manchester, the University of Glasgow, the University of Sheffield, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the University of Southampton, the University of Nottingham, the University of York, the University of Exeter, the University of Bath and Loughborough University.
The breadth of courses our pupils are going on to study is equally impressive, reflecting the diverse range of interests, talents and ambitions within the year group. Subjects include Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics, Biomedical Science and Environmental Science, as well as History, Stage Management and Technical Theatre, Economics and Philosophy, Law (European and International), Real Estate, and Music, Sound and Technology.
To our Upper Sixth: as you leave Kingham Hill and begin the next chapter of your lives, we hope you take with you not only the achievements you have earned, but also the friendships, experiences and memories you have made here.
