Celebrating GCSE Results
Published by Uppingham School on Tuesday 25th of August 2026
Congratulations to our pupils receiving their GCSE results today.
- 27% of results have been graded 9
- 48% are 9-8
- 67% are 9-7
- 85% are 9-6
At the highest levels of attainment, these are the strongest proportions of top grades achieved at the School in recent years, reflecting exceptional achievement across the curriculum, from the sciences and mathematics to the humanities and creative arts.
The Headmaster of Uppingham School, Dr Richard Maloney, says:
“We warmly congratulate this year’s GCSE cohort on all they have achieved. These results reflect the commitment, ambition and endeavour shown by this year group throughout their time at Uppingham, as well as the breadth of their interests and the contribution they have made to our School community beyond the classroom.
“The results are also testament to the encouragement, expertise and care of the teachers, tutors and support staff who have guided them, as well as the invaluable support of their families. At Uppingham, we seek to help every pupil develop the confidence, curiosity and character to fulfil their potential, and it is wonderful to see those qualities reflected in these achievements today.
“We look forward to welcoming the pupils back in a few weeks. They have built strong foundations during their GCSE years, and we are excited to see them continue to grow, explore their interests and embrace all the opportunities Sixth Form life offers.”
As this year group move into the next stage of their education, we celebrate all they have achieved and look forward to seeing them continue to flourish in the Sixth Form and beyond.
