Ellesmere College - A-level Results 2026

Ellesmere College students are celebrating a 97% pass rate at A level today, with some outstanding performances and students securing places at top universities across the UK and overseas! 58% of grades were the top bands of A* to B.
Today’s results, together with the IB and BTEC results awarded earlier in the summer will enable Ellesmere pupils to take up places at a wide range of exciting university destinations. Amongst those with excellent results and ambitious future plans are:
- Natt will take up a place to study Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at Trinity College, Cambridge, having consistently demonstrated exceptional academic commitment throughout her time at Ellesmere.
- Punn has secured a place at Imperial College London to study Mechanical Engineering, reflecting his dedication and enthusiasm for the subject.
- Lily will progress to the University of Manchester to read Law.
- Harry is heading to the University of Leeds to study Geography.
- Sami, who successfully balanced academic study with the demands of Ellesmere's swimming academy, will study Business at University of Western Australia in Perth
Students have also secured an impressive range of university destinations, with offers including Philosophy at the University of St Andrews, Physics at the University of Bath, Classics at the University of Exeter, Law at the University of Manchester, Music at Cardiff University, and Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University.

We are immensely proud of our Year 13 pupils who have achieved an excellent set of A Level grades. Results day is always approached with a degree of trepidation, but we are delighted that the hard work of so many has been recognised today. While many of their friends received their IB and BTEC results in early July, the wait has proved more than worthwhile for our A Level students. We are delighted for them.
As a year group our departing Year 13s have led the school superbly, demonstrating an impressive work ethic whilst fully participating in all that Ellesmere has to offer. Above all, they are a fantastic cohort of pupils who will leave Ellesmere with the character, confidence and sense of responsibility to make a difference wherever they go next. I would also like to thank our teachers for their preparation and guidance and our parent body for their unwavering support. Congratulations to all!
The good news follows on from the excellent results achieved by students who completed the IB Diploma. The BTEC Diploma results also continue to impress, with students celebrating another year of 100% pass results that included several Distinctions, which are equivalent to A* at A level!
