Published by Ashville College on Thursday 10th of November 2022

An Ashville College pupil has won two silver medals in the 2022 Modern Pentathlon Laser Run, Biathlon and Triathle European Championships in Marathon, Greece.

Lydia Eastwood came second in both the Girls U13 Individual Laser Run and the U13 Mixed Laser Run Relay, helping Team GB win gold in the same event.

Her latest success comes a fortnight after taking part in the World Championships, held in Lisbon, Portugal, where she helped secure gold for the GB U13 girls’ team along with a silver medal in the Mixed relay event.

Laser Run is a two-discipline event where athletes run and shoot, and complete a number of laps depending on their age. Each lap includes running and shooting.

Jane Ellis, Ashville’s Head of Lower School, said: “Winning two silver medals and helping her team claim gold is a magnificent achievement for Lydia, and the whole College is incredibly proud of her.”
