World Cup Medal For Toby

Published by King Edward's Witley on Wednesday 7th of December 2022

Following a fantastic season winning Gold at the Senior European Cup and Silver in both Boulder and Lead at the Youth World Championships in Dallas in August, Sixth Former Toby has taken his climbing to new heights, winning Bronze at the Senior Lead World Cup in Edinburgh.

Remaining calm under pressure, Toby is one of very few 17-year-olds ever to win a World Cup medal and is the first British person of any age to stand on the podium since 1994. It was especially poignant for Toby to achieve this in front of a home crowd.

His incredible success has now secured him access to all the qualifying events for the Paris Olympics in 2024. Toby is now due to compete in Japan to end the competition season at the first World Cup event to use the new Olympic format.

We are all so proud of you Toby and wish you the very best in Japan.
