Imogen W, a student in Year 11, has been selected to join the U20's England national academy programme for lacrosse. Imogen has been playing the sport since Year 7 and currently plays in midfield.

This prestigious selection recognizes Imogen's exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. As a member of the Girls National Academy programme, Imogen will have the opportunity to develop her skills under the guidance of top coaches and compete against the best young players in the country.

"Ever since taking up the sport five years ago I have loved playing the game and being part of this squad makes it even more special," said Imogen. "I am grateful for this opportunity to take my skills to the next level and represent my country."

St Swithun’s is committed to providing its students with opportunities to excel in both academics and athletics. Imogen's selection to the national academy is a testament to the school's success in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for student athletes.

"We are incredibly proud of Imogen and her achievements," said Kate Nelson Lee, Head of Lacrosse at St Swithun’s. "She is a shining example of what our students can achieve with hard work, determination, and a love of the sport.”

At school, as part of the first team, Imogen trains three hours a week with the team, including the Friday pupil-led ‘captain’s practice’. As a sports scholar, she also accesses our strength and conditioning coach on a weekly basis and meets regularly with her sports scholar mentor.
