National Cross Country Finals

Published by Cheam School on Thursday 16th of March 2023

Sixteen Cheam runners headed to Malvern College on Sunday for the National Prep Schools Cross Country event.  This particularly hilly and tough course certainly pushes the runners both mentally and physically and the Cheam Team put in a great shift throughout the day.  We took 4 teams (U11 Boys, U11 Girls, U13 Boys and U13 Girls) and in each race there were up to 200 runners to compete against, making it a very tough race to say the least. Overall, there were top 10 finishes in their respective categories for Zoe and Roddy, as well as an overall team victory for Cheam's U11 Girls team.  To bag the National title is of particular credit to their hard work, but all runners gave their best and Cheam is extremely proud of them to commit to the run, particularly over an Exeat! Well done to all runners and the 16 sets of parents who drove to Malvern to support!  What a team effort!
