Easter Skiing In The Dolomites

This Easter Holidays of 2023, LP were off on the annual Ski Trip, this time to Val Di Fiemme, Italy!

On Sunday 2nd April 2023 our Ski Squad excitedly made their way from the School to London Heathrow for a three-hour evening flight to Venice in their comfy ski trip hoodies which was enthusiastically met by all.

This was followed by a coach journey to Val di Fiemme, Tesero with, of course, a stop for dinner. Our Ski Squad then arrived at the beautiful Hotel Al Cervo, where students were excited to share a room with their friends.

Everyone was in anticipation to find out what the days would hold. Day one in the mountains and after putting on the heavy Ski gear, warm layers and eating a substantial breakfast, pupils were ready and rearing to go!

Zoe Macpherson, PE teacher and Lead on the Ski Trip, took the students to meet five experienced instructors who helped the skiers make the most of the five hours of skiing a day, as they skied only ten minutes away from the Ski Centre Latemar.  The students were in five groups and showed impressive skills as they took to the slopes.

The Skipass Fiemme Obereggen covers many ski areas such as: Aple Cermis, Ski Center Latemar, Alpe Lusia, Passo Rolle and Oclini.

Overall, Val di Fiemme includes 110km of slopes in its outstanding Ski Resort. Students thoroughly enjoyed skiing down the Easy, Medium and Hard runs with the longest run being 7km full of thick snow, meaning a hot mountain lunch and a hot shower was much needed afterwards.

After busy days of Skiing, everyone couldn’t wait to partake in the evening Apres Ski entertainment. There was a wide variety of activities the students got involved in including indoor swimming in town, make-your-own pizza, and ice-cream evening plus a quiz night! These nights will certainly not be forgotten!

After a successful six days away, which seemed to fly by, our avid skiers, departed from Venice on Saturday 8th April 2023 with fond farewells, as they landed back at Heathrow and got back to school late at night for a much-needed rest.
