Division Music 2023

Division Music was a sensational afternoon of Pop bands, Solo pieces, Ensemble pieces and Division songs. The event served as a testament to months of hard work put in by both students and teachers alike. Countless hours spent practising scales, refining techniques, memorizing lyrics, all culminated into this unforgettable afternoon. The children have been rehearsing in their Divisions for weeks and the team element was resoundingly evident from the opening of each piece. Everyone dressed up and proudly adorned themselves in their Division colours;  and the children did a great service to Elton John, making an incredible team effort of Rocket Man, Crocodile Rock, I’m Still Standing and Don’t go Breaking My Heart!

The Musical Leadership was inspiring, and the event was a wonderful way to embrace the whole school while celebrating the senior musicians. Mrs Baldock, Director of Music from Winchester College and our adjudicator had the very difficult job of selecting the winning division. After all the incredible performances, Gilpin were the overall victors and commended for their musicianship and work as an ensemble. A truly spectacular musical accomplishment celebrating the whole school.
