This academic year marks an exciting milestone for the Junior Prep School with the launch of a brand-new subject: Technology. Designed to equip pupils with essential skills for the future, the innovative curriculum blends Design and Technology (DT) with Computing, offering a dynamic and hands-on learning experience for Key Stage 2 students.

Delivered in the Design and Technology labs, Technology lessons encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Pupils are given the opportunity to bring their ideas to life through a series of imaginative and practical projects.

From crafting light-up sarcophagi in Year 3 to designing mechanical moneyboxes and building mini greenhouses fitted with heat and light sensors, pupils are exploring a wide range of real-world challenges. Each project is carefully designed to spark curiosity and foster innovation, while reinforcing key concepts in science, engineering, and digital literacy.

The introduction of Technology reflects the school’s commitment to delivering a future-facing curriculum that prepares pupils not only for the next stage of their education, but also for the rapidly evolving world beyond the classroom.
