Today, our school community was proud to congregate in the courtyard to mark Remembrance and remember those who gave their lives in the two world wars and subsequent conflicts around the world.

As in years before, Louis now in Upper Sixth played the Last Post as we observed a two-minute silence. Our Head Prefects, Phoebe and Jack, and Deputy Head Prefects, Theo and Olivia, laid a wreath during the ceremony on behalf of the School

It was our huge pleasure to welcome Mr Nick Wood-Dow, a Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Surrey, to our Remembrance Service this morning, alongside our Chair of Governors, Mr Woodward, and the Youth Engagement Officers for Spelthorne, along with many Halliford families.

Mr Nick Wood-Dow commented, 'I am delighted to be here at Halliford School to help commemorate Remembrance. I have been most impressed with all the students who have delivered in the most respectful manner. It is hugely important that children remember those who gave everything and those who continue to serve in their memory, and I am ever so grateful to be invited to this special occasion.'

Headmaster, Mr Davies was pleased to be accompanied by Phoebe and Jack on Remembrance Sunday at the Shepperton War Memorial, where they laid a wreath alongside many other members of the Shepperton community. At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.
