West Buckland School has been named Devon Tennis School of the Year 2025. The prestigious accolade - in the first tier of the LTA’s British Tennis Awards - recognises the school's strength of coaching, facilities and thriving tennis programme.

West Buckland School is proud to announce that it has been awarded Devon Tennis School of the Year 2025, a prestigious accolade within the first tier of the LTA’s British Tennis Awards. The honour recognises the outstanding commitment, passion and hard work that has shaped the school’s thriving tennis programme.

The award was presented at a ceremony held on the evening of Wednesday 28th January at the Exeter Golf & Country Club. The event included a welcome from the Chairman of Devon Tennis and an update from the LTA Head of Delivery for the South & South West, with awards presented by the President of Devon Tennis.

Tennis has become one of West Buckland School’s standout sports, supported by LTA Level 5 and Level 2 coaches, 19 courts, and a year round programme that spans from Prep to Senior School. Participation continues to grow across all age groups, reflecting the strength and inclusivity of the school’s approach.

At the heart of this success is the West Buckland School Tennis Academy, which delivers a top tier programme for players of all abilities. Operating both on campus and at a nearby indoor tennis centre, the academy benefits from exceptional coaching and facilities. With seven hard courts and twelve astro courts available during the summer months, students enjoy access to some of the best school based tennis provision in the region.

The academy’s structure - encompassing school, squad and performance tiers - ensures that every player has the opportunity to develop their skills, pursue competitive pathways and reach their full potential.
