On Wednesday 17th September, we were deeply honoured to welcome His Eminence Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Diocese of Westminster, and the Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE CStJ, to St Elizabeth’s for a very special Celebration Mass.

The Mass, led by Cardinal Nichols, gave thanks for the extraordinary contribution of the Daughters of the Cross and marked the conclusion of their time as Trustees after eight years of dedicated service. It was a moving occasion, joined by families, staff, and friends, followed by a lunch reception on site.

During their visit, Cardinal Nichols and the Lord-Lieutenant toured our newly completed facilities, including refurbished school classrooms, our new Sixth Form building, and learning bases at the college. Mr Voss also visited our specialist therapy facilities to meet staff and see the wide range of support we provide for children and young people.

A very special thank you to our wonderful school students for helping us set up for the event, and to our college learners for guiding traffic and warmly directing guests to the Chapel.

This event was both a heartfelt tribute to the Daughters of the Cross, whose vision and values remain at the heart of St Elizabeth’s, and an inspiring moment to look ahead with hope and confidence for the future.
