The hard work has paid off for A Level students at Gordon’s where over 90 per cent achieved A* to C Grades and 90 per cent heading for their first choice universities, the majority to Russell Group Universities, with Exeter and Nottingham the most popular!

Two students were successful in their Oxbridge applications, a further two will read dentistry and medicine.

BTEC results were also being celebrated with 62% graded D* to D and 89% graded D* to M.

The results also meant that four students had secured apprenticeships, Tapiwa Gandidzanwa and Charlie Gibbs into accountancy; Lucinda Dyson to an engineering firm; and Jack Seddon to a management consultancy. Oliver Cook and Jack Nickson will be heading to the US on football scholarships and Jago Morgan has been awarded a professional rugby contract.

Stand-out performances also included a place at Oxbridge for Seejan Gurung and Daria Hudson. Trumpeter Ben Hallett, who has sounded the Last Post and Reveille at school Parades for the past six years, is off to medical school and Yuvika Gurung gained a place at dentistry school. Thespian, and the lead of many school productions over the years, Owen Knight, gained two A*s with 100 per cent in his Maths A Level and 95 per cent in Further Maths!

Gordon’s Headmaster Andrew Moss said he was “delighted to see so many students pleased with their results and excited for their next destinations, which are testament to the hard work and commitment by students and their teachers”.
