Monkton pupils are celebrating an exceptional set of A Level results today, recording the school’s strongest exam performance since the pandemic.

More than 72% of all grades were awarded at A* to B, highlighting outstanding achievement across a broad range of subjects. Academic strength was also reflected in high individual UCAS point totals, with 11 pupils achieving more than 168 UCAS points each, equivalent to three A* grades at A Level.

In Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Computing, Physics and Psychology, departments recorded an average of 75% A* to B grades. One standout pupil achieved four A*s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Courses across Art and Design saw 86% of grades awarded at A* to B, including an exceptional performance from one pupil who achieved three A*s in Graphics, Photography and Textiles.

Language departments also performed exceptionally well, with French, German and Spanish achieving a combined 100% A* to B grade rate.

Bradley Salisbury, Principal at Monkton, said: “We are incredibly proud of our pupils and the results they have achieved. Throughout their time in the Sixth Form, they have consistently looked out for one another, worked closely with their teachers and contributed fully to the wider life of the school."

He added: “They have stepped up as role models and mentors for younger pupils, helping to shape a compassionate and connected community. These results are a reflection not only of their academic ability, but also of their commitment, resilience and determination."

“Our pupils leave us not only with impressive qualifications, but as mature, resilient and wellrounded individuals, fully prepared to thrive at university, in higher apprenticeships or in the workplace.”
