A Level Results 2026

The Royal Alexandra and Albert School is delighted to share the excellent A Level results achieved by our Year 13 students this year. We are immensely proud of the commitment shown by our students, which has been reflected in their performance.

Our students have achieved a strong set of results, with over two thirds (69%) attaining A*-C grades. Top grades saw impressive growth, with nearly a quarter of A Levels awarded A*-A, double the proportion achieved last year. A number of students secured a clean sweep of A* grades across all their subjects, which is a real testament to their hard work throughout their Sixth Form journey.

Academic performance was particularly strong in Physics, Economics and Chemistry, with all three subjects securing a 100% A*-C pass rate and average grades of B/B . The overall results reflect the hard work of our students and the unwavering guidance and support of our colleagues and the Sixth Form team. 

The strength and variety of this year’s university destinations reflect the broad ambitions of our leavers. We are delighted that two students have secured places at the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford, and a quarter of students have been accepted into Russell Group institutions, including the University of York, University of Birmingham, Durham University, and UCL. In total, 83% of students have secured their firm or insurance choices, moving on to diverse fields ranging from Law and Medicine to Graphic Design and Pharmaceutical Studies.

Beyond grades, today is about celebrating each student’s growth. As a school, our focus remains on supporting the whole child, helping each student build the confidence, resilience and courage they need for life beyond school. It is wonderful to see so many of our Year 13 leavers achieve the grades they worked so hard for, opening doors to university courses, apprenticeships, and their chosen future careers.

Mayowade Bolarinde joined the school in Year 12 and collected his results this morning. He said: ‘I felt pretty good when I opened them. It has been a lot of work these last two years, and it was nice to see some physical evidence of it. My mum was calling so many people before we even got to the school to tell them about my results!

‘What has stood out to me about RAAS is the school community – that includes a lot of things, such as my friends, the teachers, and the staff. Everyone in general is lovely. I think everything made me feel like I could put in the work and that what I did was appreciated, and the people I was around wanted the best for me. That alone does a huge amount, and I am so grateful for that more than anything.’ Mayowade will be studying Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge.

Full boarder Karoline Ivanova joined the school in Year 10. Speaking about her experience this morning, she said: ‘I felt excited to open my exam results this morning, because I knew all this hard work would pay off, and it really did! I knew I had got into my university, but then I opened them and I was like, “Wow”! I actually haven’t told my family yet. I need to tell them, and I am sure they will be excited to hear it and be proud of me.

‘I can’t really describe the feeling when I opened my results, but I just knew that I would be grateful anyway because all of this journey has honestly been great. This is the end of it, and the start of a new chapter. My main memorable moments from RAAS are the teachers. That’s the main thing I think of, because whenever I needed something, I knew they would be there for me at any time of day. I knew I could always send an email and within minutes get a response with help, and I am so grateful for that.’ Karoline will be studying Politics and International Relations at Cardiff University.

Head of School, Mr Joe Gale, was there to greet students as they arrived to collect their results. He said: ‘These results are a testament to the ambition, resilience and determination our students have shown throughout their time at our school and Sixth Form. Each grade represents hours of study, effort and focus, but today is about celebrating the remarkable young adults they have become. Beyond their academic achievements, they leave us as confident, well-rounded individuals who have contributed so much to our school community. As they step into the next chapter, whether progressing to university, starting an apprenticeship, or entering the world of work, we wish them every success and happiness.’
